Antinori's Solaia - so named for the 50-acre limestone vineyard it hails from in Tuscany - is only produced in the most exceptional vintages when its blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and, added recently, Sangiovese, is at its best. In the 2011 iteration, the season's climate has left the blend with an intensely warm aroma, which, when paired with red fruit and floral notes and a rich palette with supple tannins, makes for an expressive wine with a long, pleasurable finish.
