Deep in the barrel halls of the eponymous 16th-century estate, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is aged between 16 and 18 months in oak, imparting it with cedary spiced aromas. The 2009 vintage is a medium-bodied cabernet blend - its dark purple colour hinting at the juicy palate of dark plum and prune. Softly acidic with a tight texture, this balanced wine is ideal for serving with dark meat dishes.
