Château Haut-Brion is reputed for producing uniquely exquisite wines thanks to its gravelly, elevated terrain, belonging to the Pessac-Léognan appellation, north of the Graves wine-growing region. The Léognan Merlot Noire is a stunning example of a fine Bordeaux - its concentration can be seen when swirled it's in the glass, revealing a warm, ripe bouquet. At once rich and light, the 2009 vintage has all the power of 2005 with the ripeness of 1990 and 1989.
