Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion red wines have established themselves within the world of Premiers Grand Crus Classes over the years, with a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc offering a unique taste, depending on the vintage. In the case of the 1996 blend, scents of warm gravel and earth prevail, before opening up to a dry structure with a subtle leafiness towards the end. Quieter and more austere than some others from the decade, it still holds the charismatic notes one would expect from the House.
