Peter Carl Fabergé created the first of the eponymous House's eggs in 1885 as an Easter gift. Over the years, the intricate hand-engraving and traditional techniques cemented the objets d'art as covetable pieces, leading to their inclusion in Fabergé's fine jewellery collection.
